Outlining in itself is no different for any type of writing you’re engaged in. What will change is more related to the mode of discourse you must use to address the subject than to the structure. Every essay, like every story, must have a beginning, middle, and end. The difference, however, lies in understanding what your introduction is supposed to do in each mode.
